Six years ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease. The meds prescribed were to act as my extremely sluggish thyroid. The reason described was that my body was attacking itself. No explanation for why that could happen and no treatment plan is known. I refused the medication and after two years reversed the symptoms naturally. For four additional years, I felt healthier than ever, trained for, and ran 19 1/2 miles of a marathon. Yet, just over six months ago, I began to fall back into bad health. My thyroid was visible through the front of my neck, I lost weight rapidly, and my body began to shake if I spent too much time on my feet.
